PARTY BROS. for Refinery29

Style site Refinery29 asked Chris Burns and I to put together a list of tunes to get into this Fall.  Check it out:

The System – “Motha (Party Bros. Remix)”

Chris Burns and I (a.k.a. Party Bros.) had the pleasure of remixing 80s legends The System.  They’re putting out a new album after all these years, and “Motha” is going to be the first single.  Free download!

And if you weren’t previously familiar with The System, here’s a couple of their best known jams.  I’ve heard that Chromeo is obsessed with them… pretty obvious why that’s the case based on this evidence:

Mysteries Of The Mind Mixtape Vol. 1 – Party Bros.

So I’m starting a new vinyl-only record label with Chris Burns that’s focused on the stranger side of electronic music, and it’s called Mysteries Of The Mind.  This mix is an introduction to the sound.  Includes some tracks from the forthcoming Party Bros. EP, tunes from our friends over at Future Times, Italians Do It Better and Honey Soundsystem, and even some music never heard before on the Internet, such as the opening clip which we ripped from a VHS workout tape for “large and extra-large women.”

Here’s the Washington City Paper writeup on the release.
